Pentax has introduced a new entry-level DSLR today in the form of the K-x–not to be confused with the classic KX. The body draws heavily from their K2000, but adds a few key upgrades like HD video and Live View. The kit checks in at $649 with an 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 DA-L lens. There’s a new lens options as well, in the form of the A L 55-300mm zoom lens. The HD video mode is capable of capturing 720p footage at 24 fps, which is a plus for those who like their footage to look cinematic. Pentax is positioning this 12.1-megapixel camera as the next step up from a point-and-shoot, but also claims it would make a great back-up camera for advanced users.
